This instrument is made after a Blanchet-harpsichord (Paris, 1730), with its roots in the antique French tradition and full of the experience of making a ravalement of Ruckers-instruments. Because of that it’s more a backward- than a foreward-looking instrument. The picture is made in Het Stadhouderlijk Hof, Leeuwarden.
Compass: FF-e”’ (or f”’), 2 x 8′, 1 x 4′, strung in brass and iron. Case dimensions: 239 cm long, 92 cm wide, 29 cm high.
In the audio-file you can hear Beni Araki playing Toccata III in G by Johann Jacob Froberger.
